How white will my teeth get after one session?
Results vary from person to person depending on natural tooth shade, staining, lifestyle habits, and enamel condition. Some clients see up to 6+ shades whiter in one session, while others may require multiple treatments to achieve their desired results — especially if teeth are naturally darker or heavily stained.
Our Advanced Whitening Treatment is recommended for clients looking for a more dramatic “Hollywood white” result in fewer sessions.
Why didn’t my teeth whiten as much as I expected?
There are several reasons why whitening results may vary:
Teeth with deeper internal staining may require multiple sessions
Smoking/vaping can affect results
Coffee, tea, wine, and dark foods can slow whitening progress
Some medications or genetics can impact tooth shade
Dehydration spots immediately after whitening can temporarily make results appear uneven before settling
Whitening is a process, not always a one-session transformation.
Will my teeth continue whitening after my appointment?
Yes. Teeth can continue to brighten for up to 12–24 hours after treatment as the whitening process finishes and enamel rehydrates.
Is sensitivity normal after teeth whitening?
Mild temporary sensitivity can happen after whitening and usually fades within 24–48 hours.
If you have naturally sensitive teeth or gums, we recommend our Sensitivity Whitening Treatment, which is designed to be gentler while still providing visible results.
What should I avoid after whitening?
For the first 24–48 hours after your appointment, avoid:
Coffee
Tea
Red wine
Dark sodas
Curry/tomato sauce
Smoking or vaping
Colored drinks or foods that could stain a white shirt
Your teeth are more porous immediately after whitening, making them more likely to absorb stains during this period.
What can I eat after whitening?
Stick to lighter-colored foods for the first 24 hours, such as:
Chicken
Rice
Pasta with white sauce
Potatoes
Yogurt
Bananas
Water or clear drinks
This is commonly referred to as the “white diet.”
How long do whitening results last?
Results can last several months depending on lifestyle habits and maintenance. Clients who smoke or regularly consume staining foods/drinks may require touch-ups sooner.
Using whitening toothpaste and maintenance products can help prolong results.
Do you whiten the backs of teeth?
No. Full whitening of the backs of teeth is not standard in cosmetic whitening treatments. Product cannot safely be applied too close to gum tissue or areas difficult to isolate properly.
Our treatments focus on the visible smile line for both safety and cosmetic effectiveness.
Are white spots normal after whitening?
Temporary white spots can appear immediately after treatment due to enamel dehydration. These usually fade within 24–48 hours as the teeth naturally rehydrate.
Can crowns, veneers, fillings, or bonding whiten?
No. Whitening products only work on natural tooth enamel. Existing dental work such as crowns, veneers, fillings, or bonding will not change color.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Our treatments are cosmetic whitening services designed to safely brighten natural teeth when aftercare instructions are followed properly.
Clients with dental concerns, gum disease, untreated cavities, or other oral health conditions should consult their dentist before whitening.
Can I get whitening while pregnant?
Hormonal changes during pregnancy may increase tooth and gum sensitivity. For clients who are pregnant, we typically recommend gentler whitening options such as our Sensitivity Whitening Treatment.
How do tooth gems work?
Tooth gems are cosmetic crystals bonded to the surface of the tooth using dental-grade materials. No drilling is involved.
With proper care, tooth gems can last months or even years.
Do you remove tooth gems?
No. We do not remove tooth gems. We recommend having removals professionally done by a dentist to avoid damaging enamel.
What if my tooth gem falls off?
We offer one complimentary replacement within 60 days of your appointment. After 60 days, replacement fees may apply.
Do you take before & after photos?
Only with signed client consent. We respect client privacy and require approval before taking or posting any photos.
How do I maintain my whitening results?
To help maintain your results:
Brush and floss regularly
Avoid excessive staining foods/drinks
Use whitening maintenance products
Schedule touch-up treatments as needed
Avoid smoking/vaping when possible
Do I need multiple sessions?
Some clients achieve their desired results in one appointment, while others may need multiple sessions depending on starting shade and whitening goals. We will always recommend the best option based on your smile goals.
What is deeper staining?
Not all stains sit on the surface of the teeth. Some discoloration is deeper within the tooth structure and may require multiple whitening sessions to improve.
Deeper staining can be caused by:
Genetics and natural tooth color
Smoking or vaping over time
Coffee, tea, red wine, or dark sodas
Certain medications
Aging and enamel wear
Previous dental trauma
Long-term stain buildup
Surface stains usually respond faster to whitening, while deeper or older stains may lighten more gradually over several appointments.
This is why some clients achieve dramatic results in one session, while others need a treatment plan to safely work toward a brighter smile.
